This model features a 7 3/8" yellow brass bell and a .500" lightweight brass slide. You simply don't see this kind of horn in this condition very often. $2350 with original case. It projects and has some nice definition to the articulations without sounding tubby. The addition of valves below that note can lower the instrument a further six semitones to a 20 Hz E0. It retains tonal qualities of both styles of horn but maintains it's unique color and resonance.

In 1935 they started to produce brass instruments, followed in 1937 with saxophone production. So in this regard it opposes the effect of the flare and bell, which tend to raise all the resonances. The trumpet, trombone and tuba are typically fitted with a cupped mouthpiece, while other horns usually employ a conical mouthpiece. Luciano Berio: Call; Michael Praetorius: Dances from Terpsichore; Giovanni Gabrieli: Sacro Tempio d’Honor and S’al Discoprir; J. Outside the brass band, both Bb and Eb tubas function as non-transposing instruments with the player using the appropriate fingering to yield concert pitch. The following images show before and after repair shots of a dented Trombone tuning slide. Body features rolled tone holes, brushed silver plating and gold-plated bell. For a kaiser tuba, the Fickert doesn’t match the sonic power of its contemporary Cervenys or Bohlund&Fuchs tubas, however the intonation and response is superior to both. To help prevent dissent among the ranks of tuba players, a league had been assembled to carefully choose a hierarchy of tuba players, from least authority to most awesome.

A very special instrument, this was one of the last trombones made by Heribert Glassl before his retirement from instrument building.
